This Privacy Policy describes how Prime Academy (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Prime Academy mobile app and website (primeacademy.in).
Prime Academy is an educational coaching platform. This policy applies to students who register, log in, and access course content through our app and website.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register on our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Email address
- Mobile number
- A securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain, readable form)
Device Information (App Only)
To protect our paid course content from unauthorized sharing, our app links each student account to one device at a time. To do this, we collect:
- A device fingerprint (derived from hardware identifiers such as device model, manufacturer, and build information — this is not your device’s IMEI or a government-issued identifier)
- A human-readable device label (e.g., “Samsung Galaxy A54”), so you and our admin team can recognize which device is bound to your account
If you log in from a new device, we ask our admin team to approve the change before granting access, to prevent unauthorized account sharing.
Login Activity
We record the date and time of each login attempt (successful or blocked), along with the device label, to maintain your account’s security and to let you or our team review login history if needed.
Course Progress and Watch-Time Data
As you watch course videos, we record:
- How many seconds of each video you’ve watched (cumulative)
- Whether you’ve completed a video, folder, or course
- Quiz attempts and scores, where applicable, for courses with a qualifying assessment tied to a certificate
We use this information to enforce fair-use watch-time limits, track your course progress, determine certificate eligibility, and show your progress on your dashboard.
Certificates
If you complete a course (and, where applicable, pass its qualifying quiz), we generate a Certificate of Completion containing your name, the course title, the date, and (if relevant) your quiz score. This certificate is stored so it can be downloaded again later without being regenerated with different information.
Payment Information
We do not collect or store any payment or card information within the app. All course subscriptions and payments are handled separately through our website and its payment processor. The app itself has no payment functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and maintain your student account
- Verify your identity and prevent unauthorized account sharing across devices
- Deliver course videos and track your watch-time and progress
- Determine and issue Certificates of Completion
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Maintain the security and integrity of our platform
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-Party Services We Use
To operate Prime Academy, we rely on the following third-party service providers, each of which processes limited data on our behalf:
- Render — hosts our backend server and database infrastructure
- Supabase — hosts our database
- Bunny.net — hosts and streams some of our video content
- Google Drive — stores some of our downloadable course video files (accessed only by our own backend, never directly by students)
- Cloudflare R2 — temporarily stores downloadable course content zip files for students to retrieve
- YouTube — some of our legacy video content is hosted and streamed via YouTube’s embedded player
These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function (e.g., video files, or the technical information needed to serve a video) and are not authorized to use your information for their own purposes.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including:
- Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing, never in plain text
- Device-binding and per-request verification to prevent unauthorized account access from unrecognized devices
- Video content delivery is access-controlled and tied to verified, active enrollments
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information using industry-standard practices.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to have your account and associated data deleted, you may contact us using the details below, and we will process your request in accordance with applicable law.
6. Children’s Privacy
Prime Academy is intended for students preparing for undergraduate, postgraduate, or competitive examinations (such as DU Honours and MA Economics coursework) and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
